The MOT scheme is primarily a road safety measure designed to ensure, as far as possible, that all cars, motorcycles and light goods vehicles, more than three years old, are properly maintained. At least once a year your vehicle will need to be examined at an authorised MOT test station to ensure it complies with the requirements of the law. At RCP we are a VOSA approved MOT station and we have a team of technicians, qualified to the current regulations, to undertake MOTs on cars, 4x4s, and vans (class 4’s). We can also arrange an MOT testing for class 7 vehicles. It is your responsibility to ensure that your car has an MOT every year. However, at RCP we try to do our part by sending out free reminders three weeks before the MOT due date. An MOT will take around 1 hour. We have a comfortable waiting area accompanied by hot drinks and reading material for those who want to stay, alternatively we have can provide lifts for those who would prefer to go home or to work or we can provide you with a loan car for the day.

Regular servicing is crucial to helping extend the life of a vehicle and detect any defects at an early stage. Regular services will not only keep you safe but also help save you money by preventing any large scale problems that could have developed in the future. Here at RCP we have the latest diagnostic equipment and fully trained technicians to diagnose any faults. We diagnose all ranges of cars such as BMW’s, Mercedes, Range Rover’s, Volkswagen’s, Ford’s, and Vauxhall’s. You name it, and we’ll service it! We can also service and maintain your vehicle whilst it’s still under its manufacturer warranty. We will use genuine parts and therefore will not invalidate your warranty. At RCP, customer satisfaction is key, which is why we present a range of options for you whilst you car is being serviced. You are more than welcome to stay and enjoy a free hot drink and reading material in our comfortable waiting area whilst the service is undertaken. Alternatively we can offer you a lift to anywhere you want to go whilst you wait or even provide you with a loan car if you wish to drive yourself.

Does your car have trouble gripping to the road whilst going around corners? Do you feel vibrations in your steering wheel when travelling at high speeds? Are your tyres below 1.6mm? If so they will need to be replaced. Here at RCP we have a fully fitted out tyre bay which means that we can fit tyres on to any make of car, as well as check that the wheels are correctly aligned and balanced. If you want a replacement tyre to keep in your car, we can provide you with those too. If you do not know what type of tyres you have, take a look at the sidewall of the tyre you want to replace. There you will find various codes and markings. The tyres are made up of different numbers and letters but it should look something like "205/55/16". We will also check the wheel alignment, (tracking), of the tyres. It is important to do this in regards to road holding, mechanical wear and increasing tyre life. In order to provide the most accurate service possible we use the latest 4 wheel digital alignment technology- The Geoliner 680. The 3D wheel aligners of the Geoliner 680 use the latest camera and computer technology, giving you the best chance on our harsh UK roads!
